WATER TAXI SERVICE
OVERVIEW
Start your Noosa Everglades journey the easy way with our convenient water taxi service. Recommended as an alternative for those wanting to avoid the 8km return paddle across Lake Cootharaba, which at times can be difficult in unfavorable wind conditions. We also offer drop-offs and pick-ups at Teewah Landing for access to the Great Walk, making it easy for hikers to start or finish their journey.
Whether you're transporting people, gear, or canoes/kayaks, our flexible, on-demand service ensures you get where you need to go—safely, efficiently, and without the hassle. All private transfers are guided by a local expert who shares knowledge, history, and insider tips about the area
PRICES
Note: These are fixed prices. The more people the cheaper per person the water taxi will be. Perfect for families and group bookings. These prices do not include canoe/kayak hire fee. Please refer to the Noosa Everglade prices or get in touch for a quote.
NOOSA EVERGLADES
Our water taxi service is an optional add-on designed to make your Everglades experience easier and more enjoyable.
Departing from the Boreen Point Foreshore, the water taxi takes you directly to Kinaba Information Centre—the gateway to the Noosa Everglades. From Kinaba, the paddling conditions are generally calm and protected, making it ideal for all ages and skill levels.
This service is especially useful for:
-
Avoiding the long paddle from Boreen Point or Elanda Point
-
Bypassing open water crossings, which can be challenging on windy days
-
Families with young children
-
Those wanting to conserve energy for the scenic 10km return paddle to Harry’s Hut (our most popular paddling route)
-
All fitness levels, from beginner to experienced paddlers
Because weather can impact safety, we are sometimes required to cancel standard departures from Boreen Point or Elanda Point. The water taxi provides a reliable alternative on these days, helping to prevent cancellations and allowing you to still enjoy the Everglades.
Your journey will be led by a local expert from Boreen Point, offering in-depth knowledge of the area and ensuring a safe and insightful experience.
GREAT COOLOOLA WALK (TEEWAH LANDING)
Our water taxi service also provides convenient drop-offs and pick-ups for hikers exploring the Cooloola Great Walk, starting from Teewah Landing. While the full 100km trek stretches from Noosa North Shore to Rainbow Beach, our service offers a fantastic option for day hikers wanting a shorter but rewarding experience.
A popular route is the Teewah Landing to Cooloola Sand Patch hike—an approximately 6km return walk from Campsite 3. To access this trail, hikers will need a water transfer service or canoe/kayak to cross the Upper Noosa River to Teewah Landing.
This section of the walk is graded Grade 4, leading you through coastal heath and woodland, and culminating at the breathtaking Cooloola Sand Patch—an immense, elevated dune system offering sweeping views of the surrounding lakes and landscape.
Our water taxi makes this day adventure possible without the need for the full 5–6 day hike, combining a tranquil river journey with a truly memorable bushwalk.
For those seeking the best of both worlds, we recommend one of our multi-day self-guided tours. These flexible adventures allow you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the Noosa Everglades by canoe or kayak, with the opportunity to camp at designated sites along the river—with Campsite 3 being a favourite for many. From there, you can continue your journey on foot by exploring a section of the Cooloola Great Walk, before paddling back to complete your circuit.
